The other week, my friend Regan and I spent the evening at a bar with a glass on wine and our books. We read and chatted and read some more. At one point, I looked across the street and noticed a dog in an apartment window surveying the street below. I thought it was cute, so I snapped a photo (see below).
I immediately thought of my dog, Chicken. He spends at least 25% of his day sitting atop of my radiator cover and looking out the window. I began wonder….how many people have photos just like this of my dog? Now granted, this dog lives on the 2nd floor and we’re on the 4th, so it takes certain amount of awareness and attentiveness to notice him.
And that lead me to my next thought…how many dogs in windows am I missing because I’m on my phone or not paying attention? But it’s not just dogs in windows, what else am I missing? I bet there’s a lot of simple beauty that’s passing me by.
Write ya next Wednesday!
